The Datadog Slack integration sends Datadog monitor alerts to Slack through All Quiet. Datadog posts each alert to an All Quiet webhook. All Quiet turns it into an incident, maps the monitor's priority to a severity, notifies the on-call engineer and posts the incident to the Slack channels you chose. If nobody responds, All Quiet escalates to the next person.

How the Datadog Slack integration works

  1. 1

In All Quiet, open Inbound Integrations, click + Create, choose Datadog as the type, select a team and copy the webhook URL.

  2. 2

In Datadog, open Integrations, install the Webhooks integration and click New Webhook in the Configuration tab. Enter a name, paste the All Quiet webhook URL and the payload from the Datadog setup guide, then save.

  3. 3

In each monitor, add @webhook- followed by your webhook name under "Configure notifications & automations", and set the monitor's priority in the Metadata section.

  4. 4

In All Quiet, open Outbound Integrations, click + Create, choose Slack, click Add to Slack and approve access in Slack.

  5. 5

In Slack, invite the app with /invite @All Quiet (or @All Quiet EU on allquiet.eu). In All Quiet, select the channels that receive incidents, for all severities or only the ones you choose.

  6. 6

Test it: on the monitor, click Test notifications, select Alert and run the test. The incident appears in All Quiet and in Slack.

What you get

  • Repeated Datadog alerts grouped into one incident
  • Incident messages in the Slack channels you choose
  • Escalation to the next person if nobody responds
  • Incident status and updates in one place

Use cases

Alerts reach the team that owns the monitor.

Create one Datadog inbound integration per team in All Quiet and tag that team's webhook in its monitors. Each team's incidents then follow its own on-call schedule and land in its own Slack channels, so nobody else gets paged for them.

Priority decides the channel.

Datadog P1 and P2 monitors become Critical incidents, P3 and P4 become Warning, and P5 becomes Minor. Send Critical incidents to your on-call channel and keep Warning and Minor incidents in the team channel.

Escalation when a message is missed.

A Slack message in a busy channel is easy to overlook. All Quiet notifies the on-call engineer by app, SMS or phone call, escalates to the next person if nobody responds, and the Slack message shows the incident's status as it changes.

FAQ

How do I connect Datadog to Slack?

Create an inbound integration for Datadog in All Quiet and add its webhook URL in Datadog. Then create an outbound integration for Slack. The Datadog setup guide and the Slack setup guide on docs.allquiet.app walk through each step.

What does All Quiet add between Datadog and Slack?

All Quiet turns each Datadog alert into an incident, notifies the engineer on call, escalates if nobody responds and keeps a record of the incident. Slack receives the incident with that context.

Can I try the Datadog Slack integration for free?

Yes. Start a free trial of All Quiet and connect Datadog and Slack during the trial.

Where is my data hosted?

All Quiet is a European incident management platform: built in Berlin, with selectable EU data residency in Frankfurt, GDPR compliance, and ISO 27001 certification. Alert data for EU customers is stored and processed in Frankfurt. That matters for on-call specifically because alert and escalation data routinely contains production system details.

How is this different from Datadog's native Slack integration?

Datadog's Slack integration posts monitor notifications to the channels you mention with @slack- handles, with optional buttons such as muting the monitor. All Quiet sits between Datadog and Slack. It turns each alert into an incident, notifies the on-call engineer by phone, SMS, push or email, escalates if nobody responds and keeps an incident record. Slack receives the incident with that context.

Can I route different Datadog monitors to different Slack channels?

Yes. All Quiet maps each monitor's Datadog priority to a severity: P1 and P2 to Critical, P3 and P4 to Warning, P5 to Minor, and monitors without a priority to Critical. Each Slack channel can receive only the severities you choose. To route by team, create one Datadog inbound integration per team and tag that team's webhook in its monitors.
