PagerDuty Pricing Explained (2026): Professional, the Reliability Platform, Events and Credits

If you are pricing PagerDuty in late 2026, the plan names you remember have changed. This page explains the current plans, how PagerDuty counts seats and events, and what real teams end up paying. What changed in October 2026

PagerDuty's pricing page now has two product lines. Incident Management keeps the per-user plans, but only Free and Professional remain. The Business and Enterprise plans are no longer listed. Everything above Professional is the new PD Reliability Platform, which PagerDuty calls its new flagship product. It is sold as an annual platform fee that includes a fixed number of seats, events and AI actions, with extra usage bought as credits. The AIOps and PagerDuty Advance add-ons still exist for Professional customers. Inside the Platform they are called Signal Intelligence and AI Actions.

PagerDuty Professional and its limits

Professional does not include alert grouping, alert suppression or event orchestration. Those need the AIOps add-on, which starts at $699 per month and is billed per accepted event. Generative AI features need PagerDuty Advance, from $415 per month. Round robin scheduling, incident custom fields, audit trail reporting and private status pages are not available on Professional at all.

The PD Reliability Platform tiers

All Platform tiers include noise reduction, external and private status pages, PagerDuty's AI features and agents, round robin scheduling and audit trail reporting. The tiers are paid annually and upfront, with no monthly option. Starter and Essential have the same features: the difference is seats, events, call routing lines and the Expert Services add-on, which PagerDuty lists as required from Essential upward. Plus adds advanced workflow logic, incident tasks and ServiceNow bi-directional sync. Runbook Automation remains an add-on on every tier.

Startup offer: PagerDuty for Startups gives new customers at the Seed, Series A or Series B stage six months at no cost, including 20 seats, 20,000 events and 1,000 AI actions. PagerDuty's offer page does not state what the plan costs after the six months.

How PagerDuty counts seats

On the Platform, PagerDuty states that seats "include stakeholder licenses and are calculated using the highest number of Seats used during the previous month." Read-only stakeholders therefore use up seats like responders do: 15 engineers and 8 stakeholders need 23 seats, which is more than Essential includes. According to PagerDuty's billing documentation, the billable seat count can be adjusted once every 90 days, and removing users does not lower the current bill. On Professional, stakeholder licenses are sold separately in bundles through PagerDuty sales.

How PagerDuty counts events

PagerDuty defines an event as "a data object submitted to PagerDuty's events API (including via third-party integrations or email integrations) that is accepted (e.g. not invalid, rate-limited, or otherwise rejected) and processed by the Platform." Event allowances are annual.

Counted

• every trigger sent by a monitoring tool, including repeated triggers for an alert that is already open
• every resolve or acknowledge sent by a monitoring tool, including resolves for alerts that are already resolved
• events that PagerDuty deduplicates, suppresses or drops with rules
• events sent while a service is in a maintenance window, or to a disabled service
• every email sent to an email integration

Not counted

• change events
• REST API calls and incidents created manually
• events rejected as invalid or rate-limited

In practice, one alert that fires and later resolves is at least two events. A monitoring tool that re-sends an alert every few hours while it stays open adds one event per re-send. For the AIOps add-on, only events sent to services where AIOps is enabled count toward the allowance.

Credits and what happens over the limit

Extra seats, events and AI actions on the Platform are paid with credits. PagerDuty does not publish credit prices; its billing documentation says rates are "tiered by volume." Unused allowances and credits expire at the end of each year and are not refunded. PagerDuty's product-specific terms state that the customer "is responsible for ensuring its usage does not exceed Platform Limits at any time," and that until additional credits are purchased, "PagerDuty may limit further use of, or suspend access to, the Platform."

What teams actually pay

Annual list prices, before discounts. "With noise reduction" means Professional plus the AIOps add-on at its $699 per month starting price; real AIOps cost rises with event volume.

All Quiet prices are US list prices, billed monthly; EU-region prices are 6,99 € and 11,99 € per user per month. All Quiet Standard includes alert grouping and snoozing; Pro adds status pages, SSO with OIDC and SCIM, the Terraform provider and the Public API. All Quiet does not meter events, and organization members who are not part of a team are not billed.

When PagerDuty is the right choice

PagerDuty remains a strong fit if you want built-in AI agents and AIOps root-cause analysis, need more than 750 integrations or the advanced workflow logic in its Plus tier, or need audit trail reporting at a lower tier. Professional keeps one year of history; on the Platform tiers PagerDuty lists historic data access without a stated limit. For teams that mainly need reliable on-call, alerting, noise reduction and status pages at a predictable price, the cost difference above is the deciding factor. Cheaper alternatives worth knowing

If the totals above don't fit the budget, three options land well below PagerDuty:
