PagerDuty Pricing Explained (2026): Tiers, Add-ons & Hidden Costs

If you've just opened a PagerDuty renewal quote and done a small double-take, you're in the right place. This is the plain-English version: what each plan actually costs, which features hide behind add-ons, what a real team ends up paying, and where the cheaper exits are. No opinions here. What PagerDuty actually costs in 2026

PagerDuty sells four tiers. Paid plans are cheapest billed annually; month-to-month is available at a premium, and you buy seats in advance, not as-you-go.

Prices are per responder: A full user who can be paged and act on incidents. Read-only stakeholder accounts (execs, support, anyone who only needs to see updates) are billed separately: See the add-ons below.

The add-ons & where the bill really grows

This is the part that surprises people. Several capabilities most teams consider "table stakes" are separate line items on Professional and Business.

The pattern: the advertised per-seat number is the floor, and the features that make an incident tool genuinely useful, noise reduction, a status page, AI assist, arrive as monthly surcharges on top of it.

Worked examples

Here's where the add-on model bites, and it bites small teams too. The catch most teams don't see coming: noise reduction isn't in the base plans. PagerDuty files alert grouping (time-based, content-based, intelligent, global), alert suppression and alert field enrichment under "Noise Reduction," and its own AIOps pricing page lists that whole set under the AIOps add-on ("Everything in your Incident Management Plan plus…"). AIOps is "licensed per accepted event" and starts at ~$699/month. So the moment a team wants fewer duplicate 3 a.m. pages, whatever you call the feature (PagerDuty's "alert field enrichment," or what other tools call payload/attribute mapping), they're buying the AIOps add-on.

A 12-responder team that just wants noise reduction (Business plan)

• Responders: 12 × $41/responder/mo = $492/mo ($5,904/yr)
• Add noise reduction → AIOps add-on: from ~$699/mo ($8,388/yr) and because AIOps is billed per accepted event, $699 is the starting floor, not the ceiling
• Running total: ~$1,191/mo (~$14,292/yr) and notice the AIOps add-on alone costs more than all twelve responder seats combined. Dropping to Professional trims the seats, not the add-on.
• Want a few managers or support folks to see incidents too? Those go on PagerDuty's cheaper read-only stakeholder licenses, still a separate line item (rate not published; ~$150/mo per 50 by third-party estimates).
• The same 12-responder team on All Quiet: noise reduction (deduplication, grouping, correlation) is included on every plan, and read-only viewers aren't a separate charge, 12 × $4.99 Standard = ~$60/mo (~$719/yr), or $9.99 Pro (status pages included) for ~$1,439/yr.

A 50-person team, Business plan, with the common add-ons

• 50 × $41 = $2,050/mo in responder seats, + ~$89 status pages + ~$699 AIOps + ~$415 Advance (stakeholder licenses extra) → ~$3,253/mo (~$39,036/yr), before any Enterprise upgrade or per-event AIOps overages.
• The same team on All Quiet Pro ($9.99/user/mo, status pages and noise reduction included): ~$500/mo (~$5,994/yr), roughly one-seventh of the PagerDuty total.

The pattern holds at every size: the seat price is the floor, and the feature that makes on-call actually bearable, noise reduction first among them, is billed on top.

The hidden costs (the ones not on the pricing page)

• Seats bought in advance. You size for peak and pay for idle seats; there's no meaningful pay-as-you-go.
• Annual lock-in. The good rate is the annual rate; month-to-month costs ~20% more.
• Add-ons competitors bundle. Status pages and noise reduction are included elsewhere and billed separately here.
• Everyone's a paid seat. PagerDuty's own rule: "every person added to your PagerDuty account is a paid user, including those who are receiving notifications or are included in a schedule." Read-only execs/support can go on cheaper "stakeholder" licenses, but those are still a separate purchase (rate not published).
• Subscriber-scaled status pages. The $89 entry point rises with subscriber volume.
• The sales cycle itself. Enterprise and Live Call Routing are quote-only. Budgeting means a call, not a page.

Cheaper alternatives worth knowing
